9M2    - Look Alex, 9M2/SQ9UM to be active on 40-6 metres CW, SSB  and  RTTY

CT7    - Special event station CQ73I will be active on 16-22  July  for  the
         31st International  Motorcycle  Rally  in  Faro,  Portugal.  Expect

CY9    - The final list of operators for the  CY9M  DXpedition  to  St  Paul
         Island (NA-094) includes Bill N2WB, Bjorn SM0MDG, Christian  EA3NT,
         Col MM0NDX, George EA2TA, Kevin VE3EN, Mike  AB5EB,  Simon  IZ7ATN,
         Steve VA3FM and Victoria SV2KBS. They will have  six  transceivers,
         four amplifiers and a wide range of antennas, and will  be  QRV  on
         160-6 metres SSB, CW and digital  modes  from  26  July  through  1
         August. QSL via M0URX, direct or  bureau  (preferably  through  his
         OQRS).  The  logs  will  be  uploaded  to  LoTW  "at  the  earliest

DU     - Bodo, DF8DX will be active as  BW/DF8DX  from  Taiwan  (AS-020)  on
         22-25 July and as DU8/DF8DX from Mindanao Island (OC-130)  from  26
         July to 10 August, IOTA Contest included. Side trips to other  IOTA
         groups in the Philippines are  being  considered.  QSL  via  DF8DX,

EA    -  Celebrating  the   win   in   the   14th  UEFA   European  Football
         Championship, amateur radio stations from  Spain  may  use  special
         prefixes until 31 July. EA stations may use  AO,  EB  stations  may
         use AM and EC stations may use AN.
EA6    - Look  for  EA6/IW2NEF  to  be  active  from  the  Balearic  Islands
         (EU-004) on 16-27 July. He will be QRV on the HF bands, as well  as

FJ     - Ludovic, HB9EOU and Andre, HB9CVC will be active as TO2D  from  St.
         Barthelemy (NA-146) from 22 July to 4  August.  They  will  operate

FO/A   - Philippe, FO4BM is planning an holiday  style  operation  as  TX0HF
         from the Austral Islands. Target islands are  Tubuai  (OC-152)  and
         Rurutu (OC-050), with expected activity on 20 metres SSB  with  100
         watts and a dipole. F5UKW says that  the  dates  given  at  qrz.com
         (until 21 July for OC-152  and  21-23  July  for  OC-050)  are  not
         confirmed, and that the operation is delayed  "until  Philippe  can

FP     - Yuri, VE3DZ and Victor, VA2WA (VA2WDQ) will be active  as  FP/VE3DZ
         and FP/VA2WA from St. Pierre et Miquelon (NA-032)  on  20-31  July.
         They will operate CW,  SSB  and  RTTY  on  160-6  metres  with  two
         stations, and will participate in the  CQ  WW  VHF  and  RSGB  IOTA
         Contests as TO2U. An OQRS for  bureau  and  direct  cards  will  be

GW     - Special event callsign 2O12W (Two Oscar One Two  Whiskey)  will  be
         activated between 21 July and 9 September on all  bands  and  modes
         from  Barry,  Wales  to  celebrate  the  London  2012  Olympic  and

H4     - Vadym, UT6UD is active as H44UD from New  Georgia  Island  (OC-149)
         until 17 July. If conditions permit, he might  also  visit  and  be
         QRV from OC-047 and OC-158 (17-21 July). QSL via home call,  direct

HC     - Rick, NE8Z will be active again from Ecuador on 21-31 July.  He  be
         QRV on 40-10 metres as HC1MD from Cumbaya (CW and RTTY),  HC1MD/HC1
         from Mount Cayambe (CW), HC1MD/HC3 from  Loja  (CW)  and  HC1MD/HC5

I      - Representing the  Associazione  Radioamatori  Italiani  (ARI),  the
         following  stations  will  participate  in  the  IARU   HF    World
         Championship: IO0HQ (160 CW), IO1HQ (80 CW,  40  CW  and  20  SSB),
         IO2HQ (20 CW), IO4HQ (160 SSB and 80 SSB), IO5HQ  (40  SSB),  IO8HQ
         (15 SSB) and IO9HQ (15 CW, 10 CW and 10 SSB).
I      - Antonio, IZ1NES will be active  as  IA5/IZ1NES  from  Isola  d'Elba
         (EU-028) on 15-22 July. QSL via home call, direct or  bureau.  [TNX

SM     - Kjell, SM4DDS, will be active as 7S5A from Boko Island  (EU-177) on
         14-19 July. He will be QRV on 80-10 metres  CW  and  SSB.  QSL  via

T8     - Shuji, JA1FMN will be active as T88FK from Babeldaob Island,  Palau
         (OC-009) on 17-19 July. He plans to be QRV  on  17  and  15  metres

         good. He plans to be QRV after 18 local time. QSL  via  home  call,

UA     - Victor, UA1OEJ will be active as  UA1OEJ/p  from  the  Solovetskiye
         Islands (EU-066) on 22-31 July. He will  operate  SSB  and  digital

VP2M   - Bob, W5UQ (VP2MUQ) and Bill, W5SJ (VP2MSJ) will be  active  holiday
         style from Montserrat (NA-103) on 17-24 July. They  plan  to  focus
         on 30, 17 and 12 metres CW, with some RTTY. QSL for both calls  via

VP9    - Kyle, VP9/WA4PGM will be on honeymoon in Bermuda on 13-22 July.  He
         will be QRV as time permits during the IARU, CQ VHF and  NAQP  RTTY
         contests, and will also looking  for  contacts  on  6  metres.  QSL
         VP9/WA4PGM direct to home call; cards for  contacts  made  when  he

YB     - A team of  nine  operators  (YB3MM,  YB8XM,  YB9BU,  YB9BZ,  YB9GV,
         YB9KA, YC0OIL, YC9HIU and YC9MKF)  will  participate  in  the  IOTA
         Contest as YB9IOTA from Trawangan Island (OC-150). QSL  via  YB9BU.

ZL9    - The new dates for the ZL9HR DXpedition to Campbell Island  (OC-037)
         [425DXN 1093] are from 28 November to 9 December. Team members  are
         VK2IR, VK3YP, W2LK, K5GS, K3EL,  KE4KY,  ZL3CW,  HA5AO,  VE7DS  and
         9M6XRO. QSL via EB7DX  and  LoTW.  Further  information,  including
         band/mode survey, operating frequencies, log search and details  on

IARU HF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ---> The objective of the contest is  to  contact
as  many  other  amateurs,  especially  IARU  member  society  HQ  stations,
around  the  world  as possible using the 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10m bands.
This year's event (rules  can be found at www.arrl.org/iaru-hf-championship)
will run from 12 UTC on 14 July until 12 UTC on the 15th. The following IARU

ANTARCTICA AWARD ---> The new website for the  Antarctica  Award,  sponsored
by  the  Mediterraneo   DX    Club,    is    now    up    and    running  at

CLUB LOG'S OQRS ---> Club Log's OQRS (the  Online  QSL  Request  System  for
bureau  and  direct  cards)  is  now  available  to  all   users,  not  just
expeditions.  Detailed  instructions  for  enabling  it  can  be   found  at

DXCC NEWS ---> 9X0PY (Rwanda, 24 December 2011-7  January  2012)  and  S21YD
(Bangladesh, 1994-95 and 1998-99) have been approved  for  DXCC  credit.  If
you  had  any  of  these  cards  rejected,  please    send    an  e-mail  to
bmoore[@]arrl.org to be put on the list for an update  (please  include  the
Reference number  in the upper right hand portion of  your  credit  slip  to

LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES SPECIAL PREFIXES ---> Subject to  prior  authorisation,
individual amateur radio operators and Club stations in the  United  Kingdom
may use special prefixes from 21  July  to  9  September  to  celebrate  the
London 2012  Olympics  and  Paralympic  Games.  The  second  letter  in  the
existing call sign (D,  I,  J,  M,  U,  W,  etc,  plus  E  for  Intermediate
licences) may be replaced by the letter "O"; where no second letter  exists,
the letter "O" may be added. For instance,  GD0XXX  (Isle  of  Man),  GI0XXX
(Northern Ireland), GJ0XXX (Jersey), GM0XXX (Scotland),  GU0XXX  (Guernsey),
GW0XXX  (Wales)  and  G0XXX  (England)  may  all  be  amended    to  GO0XXX.
Furthermore, calls in the series GB2012 will be available for Special  Event
Stations relating  to  the  Olympics;  licences  will  also  be  issued  for
"flagship" stations using the prefix 2O12 (Two  Oscar  Twelve)  +  1  letter
relating to the location of the station (e.g. 2O12L  for  London  and  2O12W
for Wales).

MALPELO 2012---> "If you worked HK1MW, HK1N, HK1T or HK6F  in  January  2012
then you really worked  Malpelo.  These  four  men  were  the  advance  team
setting up the gear  for  the  HK0NA  DXpedition.  During  that  time,  they
operated using their home calls without using a portable  identifier.  These
QSOs count for Malpelo. Special photo QSLs have been  printed  and  are  now
available  via  N2OO",  one  of  four   ways:    OQRS    direct   or  bureau
(http://df3cb.com/oqrs/n2oo/), traditional direct  (Bob  Schenck,  P.O.  Box

NORTH KOREA ---> On 9 July Rick, K6VVA  released  an  update  "which  should
address some of the assumptions, speculations and inaccurate  guessing  I've
seen posted various places". The update is a supplement to the  initial  "P5

QSL HG2011 ---> All of the contacts  made  last  year  with  HG2011  special
event stations were  confirmed  automatically  via  the  bureau  about  four
months ago, Tibi, HA1DAE says. "We don't collect QSL  cards",  he  adds,  so
please refrain from sending yours. SWLs are can send their  QSL  request  by
e-mail (ha1dae[@]t-online.hu).

WHQS AWARD ---> Once again "MK QTC", the  Polish  Radio  Amateurs'  Journal,

WRTC2014 RULES AND STATION TESTS ---> The  official  competition  rules  for
the  2014  World  Radiosport  Team  Championship   have    been    published
(www.wrtc2014.org/contest/wrtc-rules).  Thanks  to  everyone  who   provided
feedback during the rules review process," said Andy Blank,  N2NT,  Director
of the WRTC2014 Rules Committee. "We wanted to release the  rules  prior  to
the 2012 IARU Championship so that potential competitors and the  WRTC  test
stations would have the opportunity in 2012 and 2013 to practice  under  the
rules". WRTC2014 will be a Two-Operator Two-Transmitter  competition,  where
both stations will be permitted to transmit at any time.
Station tests  will  be  conducted  during  this  weekends'  IARU  HF  World
Championship. Thirteen stations ((K1GQ, K1RQ, K1ZD, N2KW, N9NB, NI1L,  W1HH,
W1MA, W1MJ, W1SJ,  W1UE,  W1UJ  and  WB1Z)  will  be  set  up  in  the  WRTC
competition configuration using sites planned for 2014.  The  test  stations
will be active on 10-80 metres  CW  and  SSB,  and  many  of  them  will  be
operating according to the WRTC  competition  rules.  "One  mission  of  the
station test is to confirm that all sites are relatively  equal,"  said  Tom
Frenaye, K1KI, Director of the Site Acquisition and Testing  Committee.  "As
you hear or work the test stations, please make a note of their  signals  in
comparison to the other  WRTC  test  stations".  Signal  reports  and  other
feedback should be sent to info[@]wrtc2014.org. Awards will be  offered  for
working  the   WRTC    test    stations,    details    can    be   found  at
