Maldives (AS-013) on 2-14 September. He will operate holiday style
on 40-10 meters SSB and BPSK (during his night hours). QSL via

E5_nc - Andy, E51AND (AB7FS) will be on Palmerston Atoll (OC-124), North
Cook Islands until "sometime in the middle of next September", The
Daily DX reports. Andy operates straight key QRS CW around 14048
kHz, and often checks into the ANZA net which meets at at 05:15
UTC daily at 14183 kHz. QSL via AB7FS.
F - The Radio Club du Bassin d'Arcachon (F5KAY) will be active as TM5O
from Ile aux Oiseaux (not IOTA, DIFM AT-028) on 1-2 September. Two
stations will be QRV on 80, 40 and 20 metres SSB, CW and digital

F - Ben, ON5GQ, will be active holiday style as F/ON5GQ from Oleron

and PJ2/DL1THM from Curacao (SA-099) from 26 August to 1
September. They will operate holiday style mainly SSB on 20 and 15

September to celebrate the 30th Arab Scout Camp in Abu Quear,

from 27 August to 3 September. He will operate SSB only with 5

TA - The TC Special Wireless Activity Team (www.tcswat.org) and the
Giresun Radio Amateurs and Nature Sports Club will be active as
TC6ILH from Inebolu Lighthouse on 30 August-2 September and as

UA - Gennady R3BY, Maxim RU5D and Oleg R7LP will be active as RI0FM
from Moneron Island (AS-149) from 28 August to 2 September. They

V6 - Yoshi, JJ8DEN will be active as V63PR from Falalop Island (OC-078)
from 24 August to 3 September (the trip depends on the flights
to/from the island, and the schedule might change or even be
cancelled). He plans to operate RTTY, CW, PSK31 and JT65A on

W - Once again Joe, K5KUA will be active as K5KUA/5 from Galveston
Island (NA-143) from 31 August to 3 September. While on the island

CAMPBELL ISLAND 2012 ---> "We are on schedule and the project planning is
well underway", the ZL9HR team wrote on 21 August. "The team is busily
working on all aspects of the DXpedition", which will take place from 28

SWAINS ISLAND 2012 ---> The NH8S DXpedition cargo has arrived in American
Samoa. The international team of 20 operators (9V1FJ/ZS1FJ, AA4NN, DJ2VO,
DL3DXX, K5AB, K9CS, K9CT, K9NW, N2TU, N4HH, N6HC, N6HD, NA6M, ND2T, SM5AQD,
W6KK, W8GEX, W8HC, W8TN and WB9Z) is scheduled to depart American Samoa on
4 September, for the 23 hour boat ride to Swains. They will be running
seven stations from 6 to 160m, including 60m. They will be on CW, SSB and
RTTY around the clock for 14 days. Great emphasis will be in working
European stations. Plans are to update logs on a daily basis by satellite
phone. The team will have two pilot stations (Valerie, NV9L for North
America and Col, MM0NDX for Europe). Total costs are estimated to be
$200,000. Each member has paid $8000, plus his cost to get to American
Samoa. Anyone who wants to contribute defray the cost of the trip, can go

+ SILENT KEYS + Victor D. Poor (W5SMM) passed away on 17 August at the age
of 79. Last month he received the ARRL President's Award for his
contributions to the development of digital communications systems (Winlink
2000 and its predecessor Aplink) in the Amateur Radio Service. He was also
one of the major forces behind the development of the modern microprocessor.
